NEW YORK — President Donald Trump lashed out Saturday at coverage of him as he attacked “unbelieveable” coverage of the Trump administration.
Trump, who has made a point of making his administration a focus of criticism in recent weeks, lashed out at the media in a series of tweets.
“The @nytimes, @CNN and other biased, dishonest, and false publications of the Fake News media are in complete meltdown,” Trump tweeted.
“They are so desperate to get ratings and clicks they will go after me any way they can.
They will make me look like I am soft on crime and illegal immigration!”
The @NYTimes, @realDonaldTrump, @ABC, @NBCNews and other dishonest, dishonest publications of #FakeNews media are now in total meltdown.
They are so desperately desperate to reach ratings and click-throughs.
They’ll make me sound like I’m soft on #Crime and illegal.
They have lost the confidence of their readers.
They must be stopped!
“The president is currently embroiled in a legal battle with the Department of Justice over the decision to bar some immigrants from entering the United States, as well as a separate lawsuit over his executive order temporarily barring entry for people from seven predominantly Muslim countries.
The White House also called on Congress to pass a $1.4 trillion package of new spending, a push Trump said could be used to help rebuild America after the devastation of Superstorm Sandy.
